Cut from soft, slubby linen the colour of unbleached sand, the set moves in two gestures — a blouse that swings loose and light from a gathered back, and a high-waisted trouser that falls long and clean to the floor. Across one leg, a magnolia unfolds in a single inked line, drawn by hand rather than stamped by machine; it climbs the collar again in miniature, so the flower finds you twice.
The balloon sleeve is gathered into a cuff, which is the whole trick of it — the volume stays soft and deliberate at the arm instead of drifting wide, and against the long vertical line of the trouser it reads tall and composed, never fancy-dress. A braided cord ties the waist exactly where you want definition. And because the pieces are sized on their own, you match the blouse to your shoulders and the trouser to your waist — no compromise where a one-size set usually asks for one.
This is a linen with real body.
