Little upright sprigs of pink and white, printed in even rows across soft
eucalyptus green — the old hand-block arrangement, where every stem stands on its
own instead of tumbling over the next. Quiet, orderly, and far more considered
than a scattered floral.
Hemp is the part worth explaining. It has a reputation — stiff, rough, faintly
agricultural — and that reputation was earned by heavy raw hemp, not by this.
Woven light and softened, it starts easy and then keeps getting better: hemp
breaks in rather than breaking down, noticeably softer after three or four
washes and properly, thoroughly soft by ten. One rule protects that — skip the
fabric softener, which coats the fibre and works against the very thing you
want. It breathes, it wicks in real heat, it holds its colour, and it will
outlast nearly everything else you own.
The cut keeps the volume honest. A close seamed bodice and a waist marked with a
fine trim, so there's real contrast before anything gets full — and the first
tier doesn't break until well below the hip, which turns those seams into
movement rather than lines drawn across you. From there the fullness builds
gently to the ankle, and the layers move air the whole way down.
And the straps are wide. Wear your own bra, tuck it inside, and think about it no
further.
